Nick breaks down each instance, which involved several contributing factors, some of which were mistakes that were made in the planning or preparation stage of the journey. Every sailor makes mistakes, but we like to think that we can learn from our near-misses and avoid making the same error again.

As usual, we’re less likely to pick up the camera when we’re truly miserable, and when we are on film, we try and put a positive spin on things- but the truth is, we were all struggling with morale on this passage as we were relentlessly tossed around for days, with very little sleep and no respite from the steep beam seas.
